The Utah Chapter has experienced a year full of networking, professional development, and organizational growth for all our chapter members. Our monthly professional development sessions have addressed various topics that provided valuable information and resources to our members. Our sessions included: an annual day-long compensation update, ADA refreshers on reasonable accommodations, an overview of Utah’s government records statute (GRAMA), and an update on the Utah State Legislature’s annual session.

We successfully held these sessions across the state in a convenient hybrid format, allowing for both virtual and in-person attendance. Since 2020, attendance at these meetings has more than doubled. We believe this is at least partially attributed to the flexibility of this hybrid format. The virtual platform has also allowed us to form meaningful connections with many more of our colleagues throughout Utah, expanding our reach and influence.

We were pleased to represent Utah at the May 2022 Western Region Conference and are thrilled about being selected as the host state for the 2023 conference. Our chapter is looking forward to meeting all our Western Region colleagues in Salt Lake City next spring. Come and enjoy beautiful Utah!
