Bruce Gardner

Bruce has worked in human resources in some capacity since 1994. In 2007, an opportunity became available for Bruce to become the Human Resources Director for the Town of Queen Creek. It was a unique opportunity for he was raised in the Town and graduated from Queen Creek High School when there were only 50 members in his graduating class. In June 2015, Bruce was promoted to Assistant Town Manager where he still manages Human Resources, Information Technology, and Risk Management divisions and is now assigned the Development Services, Economic Development and Fire Departments.

Bruce has made significant contributions to IPMA-HR with his involvement at the National, Region and Chapter levels. He has served on Western Region Board Website & Technology Committee since 2011 and as the 2012 Conference Chair for the Phoenix conference. He has been involved in the Arizona chapter board since 2008, serving as AZ Chapter President in 2012 and as their webmaster for several years. Bruce also has been involved with the Western Region, serving as the Western Region Conference Chair in Phoenix in 2012 and again for Seattle in 2015, and served as Western Region President in 2014/2015. He also has served on the IPMA-HR Chapter and Leader Development Committee since 2014.

Bruce received his Bachelors Degree in Business Management and a Masters in Public Administration from Arizona State University. He is also certified as a Mediator through the American Arbitration Association and certified to facilitate the True Colors Personal Success program. Additionally, he has received the IPMA-CP designation. Soon after high school, Bruce served a Church-sponsored mission to Portugal for two-years and he remains fluent in Portuguese.
